Fueling refers to the food and liquids that you take in during and immediately following a workout or face. Nutrition, on the other hand, refers to what you intake during the rest of the day. Many other books have been written that address fueling and nutrition for triathlon training and races, and I will not attempt to improve on them here. One good such book is “Swim, Bike, Run, Eat: The Complete Guide to Fueling Your Triathlon.” When putting your body through the stresses of triathlon training, you must eat enough for your body to repair the muscle broken down during your workouts.
